Both Schools and Early Years Providers have an obligation to put policies and procedures in place for children who suffer from severe allergeries. This not only covers first aid and immediate treatment of a child in anaphylactic shock, but also advice of how create a joint up approach to treatment and prevention.

Who was this course designed for?

This course is ideal for all those who have children with severe allergies in their care. 

Course content

Course content will vary based on your requirements, but can include;

  • The use of auto-injectors
  • Recovery Position and CPR, treating and unconscious casualty
  • Understanding Anaphylaxis
  • Managing medicines
  • Creating a care plan
  • The treatment of Anaphylactic shock

Course duration

This course can be delivered as a stand-alone 2 hour course or as a 1 hour add-on to Paediatric First Aid

Assessment

Competency based training and continuous observation by the trainer.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive a certificate which is valid for one year.
