This course is recommended by the Health and Safety Executive and Department of Education and Employment for low hazard environments where you are required to have a First Aider on site. It follows the HSE guidelines for 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course.

We provide specialist First Aid courses for schools, tailored to the need and requirements of your pupils and staff. Perfect for inset day training!

Delegates will learn First Aid bespoke to a school environment focusing on playground accidents, sports activities, and common medical conditions such as anaphylaxis and asthma. The course is designed to give delegates the confidence and competence to act in the event of an emergency involving children or staff.

We are now delivering our 6 hour Emergency First Aid for Schools at our Guildford training venue for schools across Surrey to book individual staff members, we can also come to your school for a mimimum of 5 staff members. We have no limit on the number of delegates who can attend our course at your school. We regularly train large numbers of staff at one time.

Who should attend this course?

 

 

This course is ideal for all those working in schools including teachers, support staff and playtime supervisors.

 

 

What is the course content?

 

 

Course content will vary based on your requirements, and your First Aid Risk Assessment, but can include;

  • Unconscious casualty
  • Primary Survey
  • CPR (Child)
  • Shock
  • Seizures
  • Fainting
  • Choking (Child)
  • Playground Injuries including Head Injuries
  • Burns
  • Bleeding (Minor and severe)
  • Anaphylactic shock and the use of Auto-Injectors
  • Asthma
  • Use of Automatic External Defibrillator

 

 

What it the course duration?

 

 

6 hours, depending on your requirements.

 

 

What is the assessment method?

 

 

Competency-based training and continuous observation by the trainer.

 

 

What certificate will we get?

 

 

Successful candidates will receive a certificate by email which is valid for three years.
