2 Day Remote Outdoor First Aid 16th & 17th January 2027 (Equivalent to Level 3)

What You'll Learn
This highly practical course is delivered primarily outdoors using realistic casualty simulations that prepare you to respond confidently when help may be delayed.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Incident Management
• Assess and manage emergency scenes safely.
• Prioritise casualties using triage principles.
• Carry out primary and secondary casualty assessments.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Make appropriate decisions when professional help is delayed.
• Life-Threatening Emergencies
• Manage an unconscious casualty.
• Open and maintain an airway.
• Perform CPR using remote environment protocols.
• Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in outdoor settings.
• Recognise and treat choking.
• Manage drowning incidents.
• Control catastrophic bleeding.
• Recognise and treat shock.
• Trauma Management
• Manage fractures and dislocations.
• Treat head, neck and spinal injuries.
• Manage major trauma, including crush injuries and suspension trauma.
• Immobilise and monitor injured casualties while awaiting rescue.
• Environmental Emergencies
• Recognise and manage hypothermia.
• Treat heat illness, dehydration and hyperthermia.
• Recognise cold-related injuries.
• Understand the signs and management of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), including HACE and HAPE.
• Medical Emergencies
• Asthma.
• Anaphylaxis.
• Diabetes.
• Epilepsy.
• Heart attack and angina.
• Other common medical emergencies encountered in remote environments.

Throughout the course you'll take part in realistic outdoor scenarios that develop the confidence, decision-making and practical skills needed to manage emergencies until further medical assistance becomes available
