What time does the course start?

Public Courses

Emergency First Aid at Work courses run on a Friday starting at 9.30am and finishing 4.30pm.

Remote Outdoor First Aid course run at our public venue near Guildford on a Saturday and Sunday from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

In-house Courses

Courses run at your own venue for a group of delegates can start and finish to suit your needs, as long as there is enough time allocated for the requirements of the course type.

Are there breaks in the training?

All of our public courses allow for a morning and afternoon tea and coffee break and a 30 minute lunch break.

Breaks at courses held at your own venue for a group of delegates can be agreed in advance with the trainer to suit your needs.

Do I need to bring anything?

We advise that you wear comfortable clothing and bring lunch with you.

Will I complete a test?

During the course there will be ongoing assessment of practical skills by the trainer. The aim of our courses is to be fun and interactive, with trainers encouraging delegates to take an active role in learning.

If you book one of our 12-Hour Paediatric First Aid Blended Learning courses, you will be required to take an online assessment to complete the course.

Can I bring my child to the course?

Unfortunately, children can be distracting and we believe you will be unable to devote your attention to learning if your child is present. The exception to this is our informal parent’s first aid course where children and babies are welcome.

Are your courses approved by OFQUAL?

Yes, we are able to deliver OFQUAL approved courses upon request.

How does Blended Learning work?

Firstly, delegates must attend a 1-day practical session. You will work with one of our highly experienced trainers to explore all areas of paediatric first aid. Working in small groups you will have the opportunity to practice all practical elements of first aid in a fun and engaging environment.

On completion of the practical session you will then receive instructions on how to complete the Blended Learning Online Assessment. You must review the 'Paediatric First Aid Course Notes' and complete the online assessment within 2 weeks of attending the practical session. There are 60 questions to complete across 5 sections. On completion of the online assessment you will be able to download your Certificate, to print or email to your employer as you wish.

Do your Paediatric courses meet the new OFSTED guidelines?

Yes, our Paediatric First Aid courses are OFSTED accepted and follows OFSTED and EYFS guidelines.

Does the 12 hour Paediatric first aid cover anaphylaxis?

Yes, our 12 hour paediatric first aid course covers anaphylaxis as standard.

When and how will I receive my certificate?

All certificates will be emailed, in PDF format, to the person who booked the course. This should take no more than two weeks.

What do I do if I lose my certificate?

We can resend your certificates free of charge.

What do I do if I can no longer attend my course?

Delegates on public courses who cannot attend are welcome to send someone else in their place as long as they notify the office prior to the course. Places on public courses are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

How many First Aiders do I need?

There is no straightforward answer to this question as this will vary according to number of employees, shift patterns, types ofhazard etc.  Employer will need to conduct a First Aid need assessment for further guidance, please visit the ‘Your Legal Requirements’ page and the HSE website.
